Kenya’s Envoy to UN Condemns the Melilla Incident
The Deputy Permanent Representative of Kenya to the United Nations, Michael Kiboino, said that “what happened to the migrants trying to enter the Spanish enclave of Melilla is a blatant violation” of a Human Rights Council resolution. Speaking to journalists in New York on Wednesday, Kiboino added that this incident “is part of a worrying trend in recent years in which people of African descent traveling to Europe via the Mediterranean suffer extreme violations of their human rights.”
