Hundreds Killed in DR Congo Massacre; Government Says
Democratic Republic of Congo's government said on Monday that at least 272 people were killed last week in the town of Kishishe. Authorities blame the M23 rebel group, which the Congolese military has been fighting for months, but M23 denies involvement. Last week the United Nations said it had received reports of a high number of civilian casualties during clashes between M23 and local militias in Kishishe, but did not give figures.
