Human Rights Watch says rights abuses remain rampant across South Sudan even as the head of the Catholic Church, Pope Francis, makes his historic visit to the troubled East African nation. Mausi Segun, executive director of the Human Rights Watch’s African Division, told VOA's Nabeel Biajo the pope’s visit to South Sudan is an opportunity for the country’s leaders to silence the guns across the country, end impunity for rights violations and open up the civic space.
