Health Report: World Health Assembly addresses maternal, child health
The annual meeting of the World Health Assembly brings together the 194 member states of the World Health Organization. This year, several African countries are calling for urgent action to address inequalities in health care access, as well as persistently high rates of maternal, newborn and child mortality. For more on how the assembly is hoping to tackle this pervasive issue, VOA’s Linord Moudou spoke to Rhoda Igweta, the Public Policy and Advocacy Regional Director of the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation.
