Health Report: Reaching remote patients in Lesotho
Observers say In Lesotho, a landlocked, mountainous country surrounded by South Africa, delivering high-quality healthcare is a major challenge. Among other things, the high rates of HIV and tuberculosis, maternal and child health issues, and the shortage of healthcare professionals are key concerns. VOA’s Linord Moudou spoke with Dr. Melino Ndayizigiye, the Executive Director of Partners in Health in Lesotho, to discuss how the organization is supporting local efforts to improve healthcare.
