Health Report: African Union signs agreement to end Neglected Tropical Diseases
The African Union Development Agency, AUDA-NEPAD, and Uniting to Combat Neglected Tropical Diseases have signed a historic agreement to strengthen efforts and mobilize resources to eliminate debilitating illneses across Africa. The group of diseases and infections disproportionately affect those living in low-income, hard-to-reach areas. VOA’s Linord Moudou spoke with Ruth Rensburg, the senior resource mobilization advisor at Uniting to Combat Neglected Tropical Diseases for a look into how the agreement will help centralize resources to fight NTDs.
