Global temperature continues to rise as COP29 begins in Baku
The global average temperature rise is approaching 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels. This is according to the UN which says these may be catastrophic unless action is taken. Ahead of the UN climate change meeting COP29 starting today in Baku Azerbaijan, the World Health Organization, WHO, encourages reducing fossil fuel use and asks countries to support adaptation strategies focused on people and resilience.
