On Tuesday, former President Jimmy Carter’s body was transferred from the Carter Center in Atlanta, Georgia to the United States Capitol, where his body will lie in state for the next day before a funeral is held at Washington National Cathedral. VOA’s Esther Githui-Ewart spoke to VOA’s Philip Alexiou live outside of the Capitol to hear from mourners who are coming from across the country to see the body of the 39th US president.
