The Republican Party has officially nominated former President Donald Trump as its candidate for the 2024 presidential election. Delegates are meeting in the mid-western city of Milwaukee in Wisconsin for the convention. The nomination Monday came on the same day that former President Trump named Ohio Senator JD Vance as his vice-presidential running mate. VOA’s Carol Van Dam is covering the gathering
