Former President Jimmy Carter’s state funeral held at Washington National Cathedral
Funeral services are on the way for former US President Jimmy Carter, who died at age 100 on Dec. 29. After a period of public mourning, a state funeral was held at the National Cathedral in Washington DC Thursday. Jimmy Carter’s body departed for his final journey to his home state of Georgia where he will be laid to rest alongside his wife Rosalynn Carter. VOA’s Philip Alexiou was at the cathedral with insight into how Washington, D.C., and the world are grieving the late President Carter.
