Family and friends mourn nine people who lost their lives in a stampede at a New Year’s Eve concert on the outskirts of Kampala, Uganda. Most of the victims were aged between 10 and 20, according to local police. The celebrations to welcome in 2023 were the first in the East African nation in three years, after restrictions linked to the COVID-19 pandemic and security issues.
