Today’s playlist features some vintage tunes from Angola, Mali and the DRC along with a touch of music history profiling the Angolan artist, Bonga. There are also recent hits from Ghana and Ethiopia, and several fresh, new urban releases by Tiwa Savage from Nigeria, Aubrey Qwana of South Africa, Cuppy & Rayvanny of Nigeria and Tanzania (respectively), and the lead track from Ghanaian hiplife/rap artist Edem’s EP Mood Swings, released July 24th. I tell you more about that EP at the back end of the show at which point you’ll start thinking about life as colors! Song of the Week “Nditaurireiwo” is from Zimbabwe by R&B Soul artist Garry Mapanzure; Kwame Ofori joins me virtually to present that. Today’s feature interview is with the South African trio MiCasa. Reporter Bill Odidi from Nairobi interviews the front runner Jay Something to talk about the trio’s EP We Made It!
