EU Cancels Election Observers Mission in DRC

The European Union said Wednesday it would not deploy election observers in the Democratic Republic of Congo due to continuing violence in the country. The announcement comes as opposition party official was killed Tuesday during clashes between rival political groups in the east of the DRC. VOA's Douglas Mpuga spoke to Mulengwa Zihindura, the president of the Center for Political and Strategic Studies in DRC and a former spokesperson President Joseph Kabila, on the decision.
