Domestic Violence Awareness Month, observed in October, is an initiative dedicated to raising awareness about domestic violence, supporting survivors, and promoting education and prevention efforts. In the US state of Maryland, a local organization, the Family Justice Center Foundation held a dance off to support survivors of domestic violence. One of the dancers was Margaret Dureke, a Nigerian American Philanthropist.
