Regional and international leaders have intensified efforts in recent days to help Sudanese parties reach a final political settlement to restore a civilian-led transitional government after the 2021 military coup. Earlier this week, the head of the African Union Commission consulted with Sudanese leaders to narrow the gap between different Sudanese political forces.
