Analyst: Israel ‘Completely Eliminating’ Hamas Unlikely
Israel and the Hamas militant group have agreed to an extension of their initial four-day cease-fire. While Israel has said previously that its goal was to eliminate Hamas, international pressure for a permanent cease-fire and a looming humanitarian disaster in Gaza complicates that likelihood. VOA’s Esther Githui-Ewart spoke to Khalil Jahshan, the Executive Director at the Arab Center, a Washington D.C. based think tank, for an analysis into the Israel- Hamas war and diplomatic efforts being made to stop it.
