Analysis: UN Security Council condemns ongoing fighting between DRC and Rwanda
The members of the United Nations Security Council condemned ongoing advances by the M23 in North Kivu province, including the control of Masisi on 4 January and of Sake on 23 January, and expressed serious concerns regarding imminent threats against Goma, where around 700 people have been injured so far. VOA’s Esther Githui-Ewart spoke to VOA United Nations Correspondent Margaret Besheer for the latest developments on how the council is working to deescalate the conflict.
