The military junta that deposed Niger President Mohamed Bazoum last month says they may put Bazoum on trial for “high treason.” The statement comes days after West African regional bloc ECOWAS announced it was readying a “standby force” for Niger. ECOWAS previously issued a deadline for the reinstatement of Bazoum.
