African Rugby Authorities Celebrate Springboks, Call for More Sports Investment
Herbert Mensah, the president of Rugby Africa — the continent’s rugby governing body — says South Africa’s “Springboks” made African rugby fans proud after making history in France winning the Rugby World Cup for the fourth time. In an interview with VOA’s Mike Hove, Mensah said African governments should emulate South Africa by investing in rugby, which he says will lead to more representation at future tournaments, among them the 2027 world cup that will be held in Australia.
