African protesters seek change, accountability
Africa has seen an unparalleled surge of protests this year. 2024 has come to represent the growing dissatisfaction of millions of people who want comprehensive changes, increased political accountability and better living standards. Among them were Nigeria’s end bad governance protest, Uganda’s anti-corruption rallies, Tunisia’s down-with-dictatorship protests, and Kenya’s anti-tax bill demonstrations. For analysis on what these protests mean to Africa, VOA’s Douglas Mpuga reached political analyst David Monda – a professor of political science at City University of New York.
