The African Court on Human and Peoples’ Rights is hearing a case brought against the Tanzanian government over the treatment of people with albinism in the country. Attacks on albinos, including killing for their body parts, is widely documented in some African countries. The plaintiffs allege that Tanzania has failed to protect persons with albinism from persecution, including attacks, killings and mutilations.
