On this edition of Straight Talk Africa, Israel continues its barrage of airstrikes on Gaza as it vows to wipe out Hamas’ control of the Palestinian territory. U.S. President Joe Biden traveled to Tel Aviv on Wednesday in an effort to prevent the war between Israel and Hamas from escalating into a larger regional conflict.
But Biden's overall plans hit a major road bump late Tuesday as Jordan called off a four-way summit scheduled for Wednesday with Biden and other leaders. In a new development, Biden says that Israel is agreeing to allow humanitarian assistance into Gaza from Egypt with the understanding that inspections must be allowed – and that the aid should only go to civilians and not Hamas.
