UN Secretary-General: Sudan Violence Must Stop

The United Nations Secretary- General Antonio Guterres Monday continued calling for peace in Sudan as the northeast African nation entered its ninth day of conflict between the Sudan Armed Forces and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces. Guterres also said he is in constant communication with the generals leading the rival forces and added that the United Nations will not rest until there is cessation of hostilities, or risk “a catastrophic conflagration within Sudan that could engulf the whole region and beyond.”
