Nigerian political analysts argue that last Saturday’s presidential elections were the most competitive polls in the history of the West African nation and noted improvements despite challenges faced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). Analysts also noted rigging allegations by opposition presidential candidates, to which they urged them to turn to the courts to challenge INEC’s March 1 announcement that declared ruling All Progressives Congress candidate Bola Tinubu president-elect.
