The Boston Celtics beat the visiting Philadelphia 76ers, 126-to-117, in the opening game of the National Basketball Association (NBA) regular season. Jayson Tatum (#0) and Jaylen Brown each scored 35 points for the Celtics, who honored their late franchise legend Bill Russell before the game.
n Tuesday night's second NBA game, the defending champion Golden State Warriors defeated the Los Angeles Lakers, 123-to-109, in San Francisco, California. The Warriors received their championship rings before the contest, after beating the Celtics in June in the NBA Finals.
