Fashion Offers New Career for Kenyan Female Designer
A Kenya-based seamstress' dream to be a fashion designer was realized after she made the hard decision to resign from her job and open a designer shop. In three years, Cecilia Awuor, who started with a small shop in Jericho market in Nairobi, has expanded to two shops and hired a staff of women. VOA’s Abby Sun visited her shop to check out the fashions and have Awuor design a custom Kitenge outfit.
