A Sudanese government delegation and armed rebel groups signed a framework agreement covering security arrangements, power sharing and land issues in Sudan. The framework deal signed in Juba between rebel groups under the umbrella group Sudan Revolutionary Front and transitional government officials moves the parties a step closer to a final peace agreement.
