The United Nations refugee agency in the Sudanese capital Khartoum says it is working with its legal partners to closely monitor the situation of more than 500 South Sudanese refuges who were jailed for engaging in inter-communal violence in Khartoum last month. For South Sudan in Focus, Viola Elias reports UNHCR’s external relations officer in Sudan says among the 112 arrested, 80 were charged with breaching the peace and social security code which is punishable by one month’s detention
