The Internet has become a main conduit of news and information, some of it legitimate and factually correct, but there is also a substantial amount of disinformation, distortion, and outright falsehoods being presented to the public. Because of disinformation, the public’s trust in news has been diminished. Wikipedia co-founder Jimmy Wales and American University journalism professor Dr. Margot Susca joins host Jeffrey Young to discuss the idea of countering disinformation and fake news by turning the public into an “army of fact checkers.”
