The Trump administration wants to add a citizenship question to the 2020 Census allegedly to help implement the 1965 Voting Rights Act. However, new evidence has surfaced that reveals the actual reason may have been to favor Republican leaning districts and White non-Hispanic voters. There is much at stake in the decennial survey including the allocation of hundreds of billions of federal funds and the distribution of political power. On this edition of the program, Dan Stein, President of the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR), and Aaron Scherb, Director of Legislative Affairs at Common Cause, spar over the pros and cons of adding the citizenship question to the US Census 2020.
