Mohammed Alidu - Music Time in Africa
This episode brings you music from ten African countries plus one from the South Pacific Diaspora. It features two in-depth and on-the-ground interviews from Tamale, Ghana and Nairobi, Kenya. Mohammed Alidu is a musician and founder of the Bizung School of Music and Dance and Redsan is a veteran dance hall artist from Nairobi, Kenya. Song of the Week spotlights a new Ethiopian pop song called “Lebe Mala” by Igitu. Tradition lovers will love the Beninese number by Gbessi, and we also honor the memorial of the late, Lucky Dube (Aug 3, 1964 - Oct 18, 2007) with one of his classic songs.
