On Africa News Tonight: The U.S.-Africa Leaders Summit is set to commence Tuesday in Washington led by President Joe Biden. Over 40 African heads of state will attend the three-day summit looking to strengthen trade relations between the continent and Washington. South Africa’s ruling African National Congress will kick off its party conference this week, which will witness the governing party deciding on whether to keep President Cyril Ramaphosa at the helm amid what experts label a leadership crisis and dwindling public support.

South Sudanese authorities Monday said a protection site for internally displaced people in the East African nation is facing severe overcrowding and is currently housing over 37,000 occupants with more to be expected.
