LGBTQ Ugandans say discrimination against them have heightened since the country's legislature launched an investigation into the alleged promotion of homosexuality in schools last month.
Eric Ndawula, a 26-year-old LGBTQ activist, said his landlord has issued him an eviction notice after a video of him being identified as gay went viral.
Activists say vitriolic language used by officials to justify the investigation, including recent anti-gay comments by President Yoweri Museveni and the head of Uganda's Anglican Church, have had far-reaching consequences.
Ugandan Information Minister Chris Baryomunsi did not respond to Reuters request for comment about the impact of the probe.
