Zimbabwean teachers are boycotting Tuesday’s schools reopening unless the government gives them a cost-of-living salary adjustment of $1,000. Obert Masarure, president of the Amalgamated Rural Teachers Union of Zimbabwe tells VOA's James Butty their demand follows higher taxes, but Finance Minister Mthuli Ncube said this year's new taxes would help pay for new development infrastructure.
