After facing numerous challenges trying to find mobility options for her young daughter with a disability, Dr. Tania Gahima, a Burundian family medical doctor, took matter into her own hands and began developing wheelchair options in her home country. Speaking to VOA’s Auriane Itangishaka, Dr. Gahima shares how she began manufacturing, and how her organization, Nganinka, helps children with disabilities across Burundi.
