More than 140 people were killed in mudslides in rural southern Ethiopia, but the death toll is expected to rise. Local authorities say the mudslides are due to flooding since Ethiopia is now in its rainy season.
Pro- and anti-government demonstrators clashed Tuesday morning in Kenya’s capital, Nairobi and police used teargas to disperse them. Businesses were closed, and police guarded key points, including parliament.
