U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi this week sat down for an interview with the Associated Press in which he said the global community has forgotten “the crisis in Africa,” in reference to how the world has reacted to conflict in Sudan, DRC and other nations on the continent.
The U.N. authority also said over 120 million people were forcibly displaced from their homes last year, to which he partially credited to ongoing conflict in Africa.
