In Uganda, security measures have been beefed up in different parts of the country as businesses in major towns across Uganda have remained paralyzed following a five-day protest by traders against new taxation rules proposed by the Uganda Revenue Authority (URA). Military officers have also been deployed to neutralize any violence. Theodore Ssekikubo, a Ugandan Member of Parliament, tells VOA’s Douglas Mpuga that there is an urgent need to resolve this issue.
