Turkey, Syria Earthquake Death Toll Continues to Rise

The death toll from an earthquake that struck the border region of Turkey and Syria is now around 48,000. The earthquake, which had a magnitude of 6.4 and was centered in the town of Defne in Turkey's Hatay province, has severely damaged the area. Africa 54 host Esther Githui-Ewart spoke with Hanny Megally, senior fellow and deputy director at New York University's Center on International Cooperation, who explains the lasting impact of the earthquake.
