Police in Warrap State have detained a man who allegedly gouged the eyes of his 17-year-old daughter after she refused to enter into an arranged marriage. The girl is receiving treatment at Wau Teaching Hospital. Surgeon Yasir Biajo at Wau Teaching Hospital, who is the brother of VOA's Nabeel Biajo, says the girl must seek specialized treatment that is not available in the country.
