The World Bank says solar mini-grids can help tackle sub-Saharan Africa’s energy crisis by providing power to underserved villages and communities. Speaking at a weeklong conference on renewable energy, Camille Nuamah, a World Bank operations manager, urged African countries to support mini-grid operators in expanding their customer base in areas with no link to the national grid. VOA correspondent Reuben Kyama reports from Nairobi.
