Report Questions Preparedness of Somali Security Forces Against al-Shabab

A recent report says that despite recent military gains against al-Shabaab, Somali security services are unlikely to be fully ready when African Union forces leave the country by the end of 2024.
The report, by the Mogadishu-based think tank Heritage Institute for Political Studies, predicts that there will be a delay in the drawdown of the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) troops.
