Interim Namibian President Promises to Protect Citizens, Uphold Constitution at Geingob Funeral

Namibia's interim President Nangolo Mbumba, paid tribute to late President Hage Geingob, 82, who was buried Sunday, at the
Heroes Acre. Thousands of mourners, who included current and former heads of state, attended the burial of the late president who was serving his final year in office. Addressing mourners, Mbumba promised to take care of the "Namibian house and the needs of the citizens" and also uphold the Constitution of the land and other supreme law. Soldiers gave Geingob a 21-gun salute while K-8 fighter jets flew past. Geingob died February 4, from cancer.
