Mobility of individuals with visual impairment is challenging in most African countries where access to assistive technologies is out of reach. Now, a 24-year-old Malawian youth, Hudson Mwangalika, has invented a wearable obstacle avoidance gadget for individuals with visual impairment. The gadget is worn like glasses and alerts users when they approach an obstacle. Chimwemwe Padatha has filed this report.
