With the conclusion of United States President Donald Trump’s first address to a Joint Session of Congress and in the wake of USAID funding cuts, African countries are assessing how to navigate an evolving relationship with the United States. VOA’s Esther Githui-Ewart spoke to with Sombo Muzata, an assistant professor of politics at James Madison University, about the speech and how it is being viewed in the international context.
