SSudanese Socialite Convicted of Defamation

The High Court in Juba has sentenced a social media influencer and self-proclaimed activist commonly known as Amira Ali to six months imprisonment for defamation. For South Sudan in Focus, Viola Elias reports the court also ordered Ali to pay 35 million South Sudanese pounds ($87,000) to the complainant as compensation.
