MOKHTAR AWAD, RESEARCHER AND ANALYST OF MIDDLE EASTERN POLITICS AND EGYPTIAN ISLAMISTS Host Carol Castiel and Senior VOA reporter Mohamed Elshinnawi speak with Egyptian-American researcher Mokhtar Awad, about his recent opinion piece in the Washington Post which describes the mood and the current political state of play in Egypt.  Awad tells VOA that despite international criticism of the military's heavy-handed tactics vis-à-vis the Muslim Brotherhood, generally speaking, Egyptians are willing to give the interim military backed government a chance to succeed.
