Phylicia Pearl Mpasi, a U.S. based Congolese actor was among the cast of the Color Purple, an award-winning Hollywood movie which was produced by Oprah Winfrey. In an interview with VOA’s Roger Muntu, Mpasi says she went from making YouTube videos in her mother’s basement to featuring in a Hollywood hit movie in three years.
