The United States Department of State released a statement Wednesday expressing "deep concern" over Sudanese authorities’ release on Monday of Abdel-Ra’uf Abuzaid, one of the individuals convicted in the 2008 murders of U.S. citizen John Granville and his Sudanese colleague at the United States Agency of International Development (USAID) Abdel Rahman Abbas.
