The United States Department of the Treasury on Thursday announced sanctions against four companies affiliated with Sudan’s warring parties. Two of the companies, Al Junaid Multi Activities Co. Limited and Tradive General Trading L.L.C, are associated with paramilitary leader Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo and his family, while Defense Industries System and Sudan Master Technology are controlled by the Sudan Armed Forces. The White House also announced that it imposed visa restrictions against actors perpetuating the violence in Sudan. The two announcements came one day after the army withdrew from cease-fire talks with the RSF in the Saudi city of Jeddah as fighting continues between the rival military factions. VOA's Nabeel Biajo spoke with Cameron Hudson, senior associate at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, for more.
